1. Who we are
Ordernotes (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a local-first desktop order management application for small sellers in India. Our website is https://ordernotes.in. You can contact us at support@ordernotes.in.
2. What data we collect and why
We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve our service:
- Account information: Your name and email address when you register. Used to authenticate you and manage your license.
- Payment information: Your payment is processed entirely by PhonePe. We receive only the payment status and a transaction ID — we never see or store your card, UPI ID, or bank details.
- License data: Your license key and its activation status, so you can activate or deactivate across devices.
- Usage analytics: Aggregate, anonymised page-view data via Vercel Analytics. No personal identifiers are stored.
3. Your order and business data
Ordernotes is a local-first desktop application. All your orders, customers, products, and invoices are stored entirely on your own computer. This data is never sent to our servers. We have no access to your business data.
4. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in to the Ordernotes website (ordernotes.in). This cookie is strictly necessary for authentication and is deleted when you sign out. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Third-party services
- PhonePe: Processes payments. Subject to PhonePe's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel: Hosts our website. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- MongoDB Atlas: Stores account and license data securely in the cloud. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
- Google Analytics / Microsoft Clarity (if enabled): Aggregate analytics to understand how visitors use our website. No personally identifiable information is shared.
6. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@ordernotes.in and we will process your request within 30 days.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@ordernotes.in.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. All connections to ordernotes.in are encrypted via HTTPS. We do not store payment credentials of any kind.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of Ordernotes after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
